We caught up with Cameron Waddell, local freeride skier age 16 and Snow Fitness sponsored athlete.
His latest comp results are impressive coming 9th in the Halfpipe Youth Olympics, 13th in Slopestyle Youth Olympics and a brilliant 1st placing in the USSA Slopestyle.
So Cameron, what’s coming up this season?
First is Continental Cup in NZ where I will be competing in Slopestyle and Halfpipe. I’m also training in my home resort of Perisher whilst I keep up with my Year 11 schooling.
And what are you striving for?
I am striving to represent my country in Slopestyle and Halfpipe at world-class events like X Games, World cups and even the Olympics.
Back to all about us, how do our fitness programs help you?
Training at home and on the road using Snow Fitness programs, and at High Country Fitness in my home town of Jindabyne helps me stay in the best physical shape in the competition season, and also the off-season. This allows for me to take my skiing to a higher level and stay on top of my training throughout the year.
Any last words before you get back to working out?
Thank you so much Manuela, I cannot describe to you what it feels like to have such a supportive team looking after me and helping me to be constantly Snow Fit!
